The two books in this series provide complete technology units that are suitable for the first two years of school. Each book contains four units which present opportunities for problem solving, ingenuity, co-operative work, making links and coming up with workable solutions. Equipment requirements are very simple and work can be completed at home as well as at school. Each unit contains a fun and easily understood design brief for students to work towards, together with teacher information pages and a series of student activity pages. All units are introduced using a real-life context which poses a problem. Student activity pages can be enlarged to A3 size posters for the classroom, or for laminating onto A4 cards for use as learning centres. Each unit is followed up with a page for self-evaluation which can be filed in students' portfolios.
