Developed by a child clinical psychologist, this photocopiable resource book provides teachers with practical guidance and strategies for helping students to deal with feelings of fear and anxiety. The book contains 18 topics that can be used in either a health or social education context, or by specialist staff working on an individual basis with students. The topics help students to understand what triggers their feelings of fear and anxiety and to appreciate that they can learn how to control these feelings so that they do not become overwhelming. They will learn to pay attention to the physiological and psychological processes they undergo when they experience fear and anxiety and learn skills, including positive self-talk and breathing techniques, to calm themselves down.
